Quality Solictiors Jackson & Canter has a strong reputation for acting for tenants in relation to the many issues that can arise in the context of housing law.
These include disrepair, conditions which are prejudicial to health, tenancy allocation, housing benefit, homelessness, unlawful eviction and possession proceedings brought by Landlords and Mortgage Lenders.
Many of these issues raise Human Rights arguments which have led to the firm taking some leading cases which have changed the law for the better for tenants. Very closely allied to housing work is that of Welfare Benefit Law which has become a complicated area of law, now made more difficult with the new political agenda.
The department also works very closely with the Community Care department in helping the vulnerable, ensuring support is in place to avoid possession orders, Injunctions, securing alternative accommodation and in the context of homeless applications.
